How does Resole work?

Resole is a platform for climbers where damaged climbing shoes are repaired by local certified cobblers.

Book a repair for your climbing shoes in advance and drop them off at the chosen location.

You will receive a message when the repair is completed, after which you can pick them up and continue climbing.

Why repair your climbing shoes?

Simply put, it is cheaper, better for the environment, and offers instant comfort.

Save up to 3-4 times the cost of a new pair of climbing shoes.

Moreover, no additional climbing shoes need to be produced, saving materials and energy.

And with resoling, you have the advantage of climbing with new rubber and the instant comfort of your already worn-in climbing shoes.

There is a hole in my climbing shoe. Can it still be repaired?

If there is a small hole, it is still possible to have it repaired. An extra piece of rubber is applied over the toe.

As a rule of thumb, if you can stick a pen through the hole, the shoe cannot be repaired.

When in doubt, you can always send photos to us via WhatsApp or email.

When is the best time to have my climbing shoes repaired?

The best time to have your shoes resoled is before there is a hole.

Is there already a hole? No worries!

If the hole is smaller than the diameter of a pen, it can be repaired.

How long does it take?

It takes about 1-2 weeks from the moment the shoes are dropped off until the repair is completed.

You will receive a message when the repair is completed.

Can I also have my climbing shoes sent in for repair?

Since we only work with local cobblers, it is not possible to have your shoes sent in for repair.

This not only saves costs but also reduces environmental impact.

How often can I have my climbing shoes resoled?

It is possible to have climbing shoes resoled 3 to 4 times if there is no hole in the shoe.

Is there already a hole? No worries!

This is often not a problem, and you can have them resoled 1 to 3 times.

Which climbing shoes are suitable for resoling?

In principle, all climbing shoes from major brands such as La Sportiva (except the No Edge model), Scarpa, Five-Ten, and Boreal can be resoled.

If the hole is too large, we will not accept them either. So, have them repaired in time!

What type of rubber do you use?

When resoling, we take into account the model and type of shoe for the rubber.

For all shoes, either the original rubber is used or, as a standard, the soft Vibram XS Grip 2 (4 mm) or the hard Vibram XS Edge (5 mm) rubber is used.
